Indians of North America: Aztec
The Aztecs were an amazing peoples that reached the height of their civilization in Mexico during the 16th century. Although they referred to themselves as the "Mexica", we know them as the Aztec, a term grouping all the peoples of central Mexico who spoke related languages and shared similar customs. Their engineering skills, trade practices, religion, government and social structure made them one of the most advanced societies of the time. Descendents of the great Aztec empire live in Mexico today.
