Welcome

Welcome to the ARIN IU 28 Special Education Department!

Since its creation in 1971, the Armstrong-Indiana (ARIN) Intermediate Unit has provided high-quality Special Education programming and training for the 11 school districts in Armstrong and Indiana counties.

ARIN is also the provider of Special Education services for all eligible children with disabilities between the ages of three and five. Our Early Intervention Preschool Program is dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate services and practices to enable young children with disabilities to enjoy cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth and development during these important years.

Training and Consultation (TAC) services are also available to all school district entities in Armstrong and Indiana counties. These services are designed to support the teams of professionals in school districts supporting children with special needs, as well as providing specific and general training to professionals to enhance their practice. ARIN's TAC team provides timely and appropriate support for staff in partnership with The Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education.
