Local Task Force

Who We Are:

The Local Task Force (LTF) on the Right to Education in Armstrong and Indiana Counties is an advisory group comprising consumers, advocates, and providers of special education.

Consumers, both students with disabilities and parents/caregivers have the majority membership on the LTF.

Provider members represent area school districts, career, and technical centers, ARIN IU 28, and the Armstrong-Indiana Behavioral and Developmental Health Program.

Advocate members represent agencies that serve people with disabilities.

What We Do:

As an advocacy group for students with disabilities, the LTF works to strengthen, improve, expand, and monitor programs and services that meet individual educational needs.

The LTF gives parents, administrators, students with disabilities, agency representatives, and others a place to share information, discuss their concerns and seek collaborative solutions.

The LTF works to resolve problems and refers to individual concerns to the appropriate person or organization.

How to Contact Us:

Local Task Force Meetings are open to the public. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Meeting announcements appear in the “Sunshine Notices” of area newspapers and in the Arc of Indiana County’s “Let’s Chat” newsletter that is distributed to local schools.

The LTF meets five times during the school year, usually on a Friday morning from 10:00 AM to noon at the ARIN IU 28 office.
