about someone getting a GED the GED is actually one of the two tests you can take to get what is called the Commonwealth secondary school diploma the other testicle the hiset test while you do not have to make you're just right now you will have to decide which test you want to take in the near future let's look at some of the differences between them the GED test is made up of four individual sections mathematical reasoning social studies science and reasoning through language arts which consists of both reading and writing the hiset on the other hand is made up of five individual sections mathematics social studies science reading and writing as you can see the reading writing test or two separate tests on the hiset what are combined into the language arts test on the GED each section is its own complete test so for example no matter if you take the GED or the high side you can take the mathematics test one day and the social studies test on a different day or if you prefer you can take up to all the tests on the same day just keep in mind that if you choose the heist that you must take all sections in the hiset scores cannot be combined from both test likewise if you start the GED you must complete all sections in the GED now let's talk cost for the GED each section of the test is $30 because there are four subjects to Euro cost will be $120 the GED test is only available in a computer-based format for the hiset each section is $10.75 for each section in the computer-based format over five sections this will be an overall cost of $93.75 however the high side is also available in a paper and pencil format which is $23 section Define test will cost a total of $115 computer based in paper-based pencil formats of the hiset are available in Armstrong County but only the paper and pencil based format is available in Indiana County did you PT test is available in Armstrong County please note that students are allowed to go to whichever County they prefer to test in terms of questions on the test the GED will consist of multiple choice fill in the blank Dragon drop another type of questions the high side will consist of strictly multiple choice questions please keep in mind on both tests there will be in SA for both tests you were allowed to retake a section if you did not pass the first time however if you do not pass the same section 3 find the GED you must wait 60 days before attempting that section again in for the height that you must wait until January of the following year if you do need to take a section again in either the GED or the hiset you do not need to retake any other sections already passed now you're ready to continue with your orientation into this class please feel free to ask questions at any time during orientation or class that's what we're here for we want to help you let's get started
