Induction Workshop Series
Let us Supplement Your Year 1 Induction Plan
- Welcome to Education
- Special Education for All Teachers
- Understanding the Standards/Curriculum and Universal Design for Learning
- What Would You Do? Dealing with At-Risk Student Issues, Trauma and SEL
Although the trainings are designed with first year teachers in mind, you can still choose to send a teacher that is new to your district, returning to teaching after taking a few years off, or someone that completed year one elsewhere and is completing year 2 of induction in your district.
We will finish out the day focusing on classroom management, and the do's and don'ts in the world of education. Professionalism, equity for all students, and best practices will be stressed during this time.
Dates:
Special Education for All Teachers
Education is well known for its wide use of acronyms such as IEP, GIEP, NOREP, FBA, PBSP and more, and often used as if everyone should know what they stand for. Time will not only be spent defining these acronyms, but we will take a deeper dive at what each one truly is, and why it is important. These are legally binding documents that all teachers are expected to follow, and many times teachers are unclear of what their roles are when it comes to implementing them.
With an increase in the student population with social and emotional needs, it is also important that all new teachers are familiar with implementing behavior plans, understanding antecedents, and motivating our at-risk students. For this reason, we will spend time looking at how theses plans are developed, why they are included in an IEP, and again, the role of the general education teacher in following these plans.
The day will conclude with a focus on co-teaching, as this will most likely occur throughout their school day. We will spend time looking at what co-teaching really is, the different models of co-teaching, and making the most of the support staff in the room.

Putting the use of the standards and assessments to drive our instruction, but doing so in a way that is accessible to all learners, and meets the wide variety of learning needs in the classroom. Participants will explore ways that AI, when used ethically and efficiently, can help us create well rounded lessons to meet the needs of our of our learners.
